Test Re-Do Opportunity

I am giving students that did not pass the last math test a re-do opportunity.  If your student comes home with a re-do packet, they should follow the instructions written on the cover in order to increase their grade up to a passing score of 70.   Parents, please sign where indicated.  Re-dos are due tomorrow, no exception.

NEW HOMEWORK FORMAT

We have a new homework format beginning this week.  Students will now bring home a homework packet each Monday that will be due each Friday.  This packet will include all homework for the week.  Occasionally there will be an assignment included that will be due during the week, such as the Math Study Guide included in the packet this week.  This assignment is due tomorrow.  The Reading Log will still be due on Monday.  Because of this change,  I will not be posting daily homework assignments any longer.  I am hoping that this format will make homework organization  easier for you and your student.

A big thank you to everyone that have sent in donations for the award baskets (the "student store").  The donations have helped tremendously and the students have enjoyed the new items to select from.  Please keep them coming in.  The baskets need constant replenishing.

Envision Math Book Online

Your child went home today with a letter explaining how you can access the Envision math book online.  Their username and password are included in the letter.  Aside from the textbook, the website also gives you access to videos and manilpulatives that will be useful to you and your child when extra practice is needed.

Accelerated Reader Website

Students have taken their first Star Reading assessment and now know their Accelerated Reader level and should be reading books at that level.  I gave them a website that they can go to to find the AR levels for any book in the Accelerated Reader system.    The website is arbookfind.com.  They should use this website should they have a book at home that they would like to read and want to know if it is at their appropriate level.

No December Knowledge Builders

Because December is a short academic month, there will be no Knowledge Builder this month.  It will resume in January.

Extra Help Take Home Work

I have begun sending extra take home work with students struggling in different subjects.  This work is  NOT expected to be turned in.  It is soley for the purpose of extra practice in areas where students struggle.  You will recognize these worksheets by the red apple stamp that I will place on the top of the sheets.
